We are continuing to do adoptions by appointment

Continuing January 1, 2022 APL is encouraging adoptions by appointments. Walk-in visitors are welcome, but may have to wait to accommodate social distancing and may not be able to finalize their adoption the same day.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering, we request that you fill out an application first. Applications can be found on our website - www.apl-shelter.org. We will contact you for a time to come in and meet the animal(s) and finalize your adoption/foster. We are taking appointments from 12-4:30 daily. If you would like to volunteer, we would love the help! But we ask that you schedule a shift with Mary, our volunteer coordinator ahead of time. This will prevent multiple people from being in one area. You can contact Mary at 217-544-7387 or volunteer@apl-shelter.org.

If you would like to drop off a donation, our office is open from 8:30-11 and 12-5. Material donations can be dropped off in our lobby or outside on our front porch. You can make a monetary donation here or on our website - www.apl-shelter.org/donate.

If you have a current foster and need additional supplies, have questions, or the animal needs to be seen by medical staff, we ask that you contact our foster coordinator, Anna, at 217-544-7387 or aplfoster@apl-shelter.org to schedule an appointment.
