Register for APL's annual Donuts and Dogs 5K Fun Run to benefit the lifesaving work and the animals of the Animal Protective League! Join us June 4th at Southwind Park. Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children under 12. Register by May 6th to get your race t-shirt!

You can race as an individual, a family or create a team and fundraise together! Bring your sociable, well-behaved dog (must be up-to-date on all vaccinations, have proof of a current rabies vaccine and be at least four months of age). This year's race includes a timed run and a fun run/walk.

Don't want to race but still want to be involved? You can become a fundraiser and help to raise money to support our animals without breaking a sweat! 

If you want to participate in the run but don’t live here in town you can participate virtually! We have two special prizes for those participating virtually. We will be sending a special prize to the participant who has the farthest run from the shelter. Participants can email their starting address for their run to events@apl-shelter.org. The second prize is for the fastest time. Participants can take a screenshot of any app that tracks distance and time (we recommend MapMyRun or similar app) and email that to events@apl-shelter.org.

You must pre-register for the race by June 2nd at midnight. There will be no on-site registration this year. Packet pick-up will be held on June 3rd from 4-6:30pm. Limited packet pick up will be available 9 a.m. the day of the race. The race starts at 10 a.m.

There will be lots of vendors along with free activities including doggie massages, doggie cooling pools, and much more from 9 a.m. to Noon p.m. There will even be treats for people and dogs alike! (Donuts provided by Mel-O-Creme)

Prizes will be awarded to the overall adult male and female winners, first and second place in the under 12 category, as well as the overall canine. First and second-place runners will be recognized in each age bracket category.  Everyone who participates in person will receive a participation medal.

Prizes will also be awarded to top fundraisers,The more money your raise the more prizes you earn!

$500 All of the above plus naming rights to a cat or dog at APL's shelter

$750 All of the above plus a photo session with Terry Farmer photography

$1000 All of the above plus a Cage Sponsorship at the shelter

Team Fundraiser Prize Levels

$2500 All of the above plus a pizza party. You pick the location we’ll bring the pizza!

$5000 All of the above plus special recognition in our next newsletter, at the race awards ceremony, and a custom trophy
